i 1st repaired a 2008 Macbook.i fell in love with it.so i bought my own.that turned into 10 Macs.(i bought 4 Macbook Pros A1278s, i have 3 Macbook 2010s, & i have an A1398).the A1398 has speed that is one i purchased 3 weeks ago has an i7 2.8Ghz Quad Core processor.now even though the A1398s got rid of the CD/DVD drive, it's still the has an HDMI port, 2 USB 3.0 ports, & 2 Thunderwire (Firewire) uses a PCI Express SSD drive.(these are drives that LOOK like a RAM stick).the speed on this computer is so crazy that startup time is like 5 seconds at the most.i got mine for 800 because of no SSD drive (which means no OS).the OS & a 512GB PCIE SSD drive ran me 300.but i'll say s omething.IT'S WORTH IT!! (laughing).you no longer have to worry about what your computer can/can't handle.this is one of the greatest investments ever.if you're into music (like myself).this is perfect for those modern day programs.i have Autotune/Melodyne in my 2010 Macbook.& i'm putting the identical setup in my 2014 Macbook Pro.the 2010 handles the program decently.but the MBP? it's a monster.& it's TOTALLY quiet.the ONLY time i THOUGHT i heard a fan is when i was installing Sierra.(i may be crazy).LOL.but other than that.you can't hear a sound.the speakers on it are pretty good too.(i often use them (laptop speakers) to gauge if a mix is good or not).i still use my PCs from time to time.but this 2014 MacBook Pro is "The Bee's Knees".LOL.it also has 16GBs of RAM.ridiculous speed & power.& lightweight too.Īlright.so there you have it.my thoughts on this great computer.i decided to go Mac because ProTools was ORIGINALLY indegenous to ONLY Mac OSs.i don't think i can use a PC anymore after the 's the greatest MEDIA-oriented computer in the world.Peace.& God bless you & yours.ĭISCLAIMER: be sure that you pick out the CORRECT year & the correct model no# when getting SSDs/HDDs.Mac computer are very picky about these.(e.g.

I'll be perfectly candid.i HATED Macs of ANY kind until 3-4 years ago.
